Great point. That’s sort of the stance I take with the “social media” stuff in my classroom.

That could def also apply to the concept of minimalism and advertising/corporate messages.

I could also argue that allowing your children to be exposed to mainstream media through traditional channels, but educating them on the goals of these messages, exposing the manipulation, and making them savvy media consumers might actually be a better goal. My kids can deconstruct a commercial message now before I even raise an eyebrow.

That being said, I’m all for minimalism in general.
